April Adoption Round Up!

April has been a great month for our Waggytails! TWENTY dogs and FOUR cats found their forever homes!! Sorrin, Shorty, Evie, Luke, Lucky, Ombre, Reesie, Little Bit, Roxy, Calista, Tate, Felix, Willie, Ponygirl, Moon, Rosie,Casper, Georgie, Hootie, Kateland, Rico, Mama, Stripe and Mango all have been adopted!

April also saw the launch of two new collaborations for us, allowing us to exapnd our reach in order to rehome needy dogs from across the USA.

Waggy West, funded by generous donations from members of the public (THANK YOU!!), is enabling us to pull at-risk dogs from seriously overcrowded shelters in LA, get them vetted and flown to New York for rehoming! In our inaugural mission we brought back three dachshund-mix puppies, two chihuahuas and one more little pup, Evie, who was quickly adopted by her foster in California! We are happy to announce that ALL SIX Waggy West pups have been adopted in April! Shorty, Ombre, Lucky, Ponygirl and Calista have all been adopted! We also pulled a 7th pup on a second LA trip, little Luke, who again was adopted before his flight to the East coast :) We are excited to continue and expand our Waggy West mission and would welcome any continuing donations to fund this project!

We also began a partnership with a Texas-based puppy mill rescue which saw approximately 20 former breeding dogs rescued and placed into foster care in NYC! We are so grateful to our fosters who are taking the time to care for these dogs as they acclimatize to life outside the breeding environment and to this new city. We are happy to announce that four puppy mill rescues have already been rehomed; Georgie, Hootie, Kateland and Rico!

April aslo saw some of our longer term residents find their forever homes! We were thrilled with the number of people who applied to adopt Casper after he was featured by Susie's Senior Dogs. We also had a great Super Adoption Event, with several of our dogs meeting their new owners, including cutie Moon! Four kitties were also adopted, including Willie who has been with us since November, and Mama cat and two of her kittens! The third kitten has an adoption pending.
