DENVER! Adoptable Waggy of the Week!

Our adoptable Waggy of the Week is Denver!

Denver is a 9 year old, foxy middle aged purebred Chihuahua who was rescued in April from a puppy mill. Despite that rough start Denver is a sweetheart whose only wish is to make her person happy!

Denver is as sweet and happy as could be, and although she is very shy at first and can be skittish, when she warms up to you, you are her everything. When her foster mom gets home at the end of the day, she literally leaps into her arms in joy!

Denver really is the perfect, low-maintenance dog who just wants to cuddle on your lap or tag along with you on errands in her carrier. She is good with other dogs and kids, and she has never shown aggression toward anyone or even barked! Denver loves her treats and is trained to use wee wee pads, although she can go outside on a quiet street also. Denver picked up on wee wee pad training so quickly, we believe she could be housebroken in no time (if that's what you prefer).

Denver has gained strength and lost a little weight in foster care and loves to go on walks! But she also loves riding in her her carrier with her head out while you do the walking :)

Denver is madly in love with her foster sibling my dog, Mona, who has helped guide her, given her confidence, and somewhat reluctantly serves as a pillow and cuddle buddy :) She would do great in a home with another dog.

Many people won't consider Denver because she's "old" and has a sad story, but she's not old and she's not sad! The average lifespan of a chihuahua is 17 years -- she's an amazing, sweet pup who deserves a loving forever home!
